When Is Angioplasty And Open Heart Surgery Suggest?

My Father is having Heart problem and the cardialogist has advised from Angiogram. Based on the results he said that my father may have to undergo angioplasty or open heart surgery. My father is daibetic and is 70 yrs old. My question is when do they suggest Angioplasty and when to they suggest Open heart surgery? Wil the age matter ? How much would it cost of Angioplasty / Open Heart surgery ?

I understand your concern for your fathers health and i would like to tell you that yes age matters alot as well the the complexity of the disease matters.
Like if after angiogram if your father got to have a double vessel disease or Triple vessel disease then most likely By pass surgery will be advised and will be beneficial also.
Cost varies according to the severity of the disease. Roughly i will range from 2lac to 5 lacs depending upon which procedure will be opted.
