When Is It Safe To Resume Exercise And Workout After Hernia Surgery?

Hello doctor s, i have a question so plzz help me out .... in 2014 i was operated for hernia.....now i want to join gym but my doctor didn t gave me permission to do that but i had started lifting weights at my home ....now my hernia s part is paining where stiches were applied....what to do plzz suggest....is this problem regarding pain is big or its normal..plzz suggest☺☺☺☺☺Thanks

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.
Inguinal hernia surgery require rest to get repaired. After four to six weeks you may resume normal activity without restriction.
However resuming a strenuous work out like weight lifting require further rest & it is advisable to start low weight and then increasing substantially. Looks like you have started immediately with high weight.

Now you should visit your surgeon, he would check if their is some herniation of contents again or not & treat accordingly. In mean while you could take pain killer like diclofenac.
