When Is The Ideal Time For A Cataract Surgery?

How do I know when I m ready for cataract surgery. They keep putting it off and telling me they aren t ripe enough. I no longer drive at night. I have to be practically on top of road signs to read them and all birds in flight seem to have long tails, never mind the blurriness of people, etc.

Hello,

Cataracts do not need to be removed just because they are present and It is not true that cataracts need to be “ripe” before they can be removed. You and your doctor should decide together when surgery is appropriate based on your symptoms. So, please discuss the same with your ophthalmic surgeon about your inability to drive and see properly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
