When Is The Right Time To Remove The Rod For A Fractured Femur?

Hi Dear Sir I got operated in may 2007 for my femur bone was shattered?now i am fit after insertion of rod? when is the right time of removal? nowadays m getting some kind of less sensation if i move my palm on my operated area ..plz guide me what to do?
