When Shall I Remove The Stitch In My Wound?

Hello. Last week I punched a window and injured my hand, luckily I only punctured my pinky finger, although very badly. I went to the ER and had the wound properly cleaned and stitched up. I was prescribed with antibiotics and had a tetanus shot. It's been 7 days since the incident and I was wondering when would be an appropriate time to let my wound breathe some air (I've had it covered with a gauze the whole week).
