When Should One Get Tested For STDs?

I m recently divorced and suspect my ex-husband had been cheating on me for years (was married about 17 years). He was my only sex partner and I was a virgin when we got married. I stopped having sex in 2014. Should I get checked for STDs although I think I m ok?
