When Should One Take Norethisterone To Delay Periods?

hi, my period started yesterday on the 27th Sept. I went for a doctor to get norethisterone to delay my period for my next month backpacking trip which is on 22nd Oct till 31st Oct. When is the best time to start taking norethisterone? Is it around 10 days before my next period?
