When Should Pregnancy Test Be Taken After Missing A Period?

Hello, I am a 25 year old female who is on birth control. I have taken my pill everyday, however last month my period started 2 days earlier than normal. I usually start my period Wed. night, and now it is the afternoon on Thursday. I am concerned about when I should take a pregnancy test. Should I wait a couple more days to see if my period comes?
