When Should Stenting Be Done In Case Of A Blocked Artery?

I have been told that I have a blocked artery in the aorta arch. BP is false in reading of left arm so right arm to be used. Doc says take Aspirin as blood thinner and see him in six months. If artery is blocked why the six months wait before inserting a stent?
