When Using Anti Fungal Cream Find Relief From The Infection. Is It A BV Or A Yeast Infection?
Hi I am not sure if I have BV or a yeast infection. Currently, my student insurance has expired and will not be renewed until August. If I use anti fungal cream and feel immediate relief should I just have assumed it was a yeast infection and would the cream help with re-balancing the concentration of bacteria or is it solely used for symptom relief? Thank you!
A yeast infection would normally present white/yellow discharge and vaginal itching, there is usually no odour.
BV would normally present with a white grey discharge that has a foul fishy odour.
If it is more in keeping with a yeast infections then you can use the over the counter creams and it should be effective. BV can be treated either topically or with oral medication.
Usually treatment for BV requires a prescription but you can speak to your local pharmacist to determine the requirements in your area if it is in keeping with BV.
I hope this helps
