When Will I Get A Regular Menstrual Cycle After Starting Clomid?

Here's my question my doctor gave me an Rx for provera 10days then clomid 100mg for days 5 through 9. What he told me was after 10 days I would have a period and during that period of course start the clomid. Only I began to bleed after only 5 days of taking the provera and he wants me to finish taking the provera why I really don't understand. They tell me that the bleeding that's happening would not count as cycle day one why? My doctor tells me that what ever day I bleed after the 10th pill will be considered cycle day one why? And what happens if I don't bleed at all after the 10th pill wouldn't that mean I just wasted a month of my time?
