Where Should Diclofenac Sodium Gel Be Applied?

I was prescribed Diclofenac Sodium gel 3%. apply 3-4 grams to affected area. What is this medicine suppose to do ?? Is it just for hip,knees and hands ? I wasn t told. It was mailed to me. I go to physical therapy The doctor never gets back to me. Can you Please help me ! Thank You.

at the point of pain and inflammation. it's an antiinflammatory and analgesic gel. it can be used anywhere externally.
