Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr. Dr. Praveen Tayal's  Response
Hello.

Thanks for writing to us.

Comparatively dark under arm are due to overactivity of melanocytes causing excessive pigment production. This can be because of use of deodorants with alcoholic content in them which irritates the skin chronically. There are many skin creams available but their exact efficacy varies from individual to individual. It is best to consult your dermatologist for dermabrasion or skin peeling .

I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.

Regards,

Dr. Praveen Tayal
