Which Medication Helps Alleviate Swelling And Itching After A GSV Procedure?

Hi I had a GSV procedure done on my left leg, using lidocaine. It s been 2 weeks and the injection sites are red and there is swelling under skin. There is itching the length of the underside of the thigh. Is there something I can take to alleviate these symptoms?

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

GSV procedure swelling itching. After this procedure you may have some side effects, as pain or itching and swelling. You may take over the counter medicine such as achetaminophen or ibuprofen tablets as needed. If swelling gravates or pain becomes worse contact your doctor because it may go infected or even thrombosed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
