Which Medication Should Be Taken For Wound To Heal After Mastoid Operation?

Hi Doctor , I have visited your clinic in October'10. My name is Archana Singh, i underwent an Ear surgery 2 yrs back but still the wound is not healed properly.U adviced me to take Otek O & Niato ear drop ,I have missed that prescription. Which Tablet i sould take to heal ,as pus & blood is coming .I had a mastroid operation.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain in case if there is still pus and blood discharge from the surgery site there seems to be prevailing infection and you need immediate medical assistance..

You should consult a treating surgeon and get evaluated and he can advise you antibiotics like Augmentin and Metronidazole, anti-inflammatory medicine like Motrin, clean the area with antiseptic solution and apply triple antibiotic ointment over it..

You should also get a blood investigation done to rule out for blood sugar levels both fasting and post meal as high sugar level can cause delayed wound healing..
