Which Pain Medication Is Advisable For A Person Reactive To Oxycodone?

Had surgery on shoulder and went home on oxycodone and had to have more surgery.Also have chronic back after a lamenectomy years ago.took oxycodone but suddenly reacted with advertising for days.given co-op codamol and within 1/2 an hour severe itching.given tramadol same thing.going in hospital 8/11/17 for a Rt Hemicolectomy what will they be able to give me for pain control.( used pcs before but had no reaction to opiates) .Sue RGN

You can try non opiod analgesics like paracetamol infusion or NSAIDs like diclofenac or ktrolac both are goo analgesics. After surgery you can keep epidural catheter for few more days so that you can refill the anesthetic drug analgesia can be ensured in the immediate post operative period.
