Hi, I'm a student researching Alice in Wonderland Syndrome, can someone answer my questions?
Thanks so much!
1. Is Alice in Wonderland Syndrome a distortion in actual sight (eye) or just interpretation (brain)?
2. Which part of the brain does Alice in Wonderland Syndrome affect?
3. How do you distinguish between Alice in Wonderland Syndrome and hallucinations?
4. Why would people who have AIWS grow out of it as they get older?
5. Can you develop AIWS, or are you born with it? Is it genetic? If so, what gene is it related to and is it a dominant or recessive trait?
6. How long do the auras of AIWS last, usually?
7. Why would AIWS be more common when the patient is about to sleep?
