Which Shower Gels Are Used To Combat Skin Spots Caused By Fungus?

I have skin spots that start on my upper back and are now spreading to my chest and shoulders. A couple of years ago I used a skin shower gel where I applied and waited 3 minutes before showering off the gel. It took several months, but I was finally able to get rid of the spots. I can t remember what gel was prescribed, but I don t want to try something else, so I was hoping you might know of shower gels used to combat skin spots caused by fungus or bacteria.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I have gone through your complaints and you seem to be having pityriasis versicolor which is a superficial fungal infection of the skin. You can use shower gel containing Ketoconazole or Oxiconazole on the affected areas for few minutes and wash it off.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
