I get severe migraines, to the point that I can t even open my eyes without throwing up, sometimes I just have the clear fluid-not sure the name just kind of pour out of my mouth without actually vomiting. When I get them I also feel like I have a fever, and if I lay down and remain completely still for about 5 minutes the pain goes away and I can sleep, but if I even twitch a muscle the pain comes back instantly(I laugh when I see commercials about migraine meds that show people still doing things like making dinner, I wish mine were that mild). The last few times I ve gotten them it felt like my skin had split open above my eyes at the hairline, which is where the pain is every time, I actually felt around for blood and the area was completely numb. None of the meds Doctors have prescribed have helped, the only thing I can do is try to sleep through it. I ve been seeing doctors at the VA, but I don t trust them as the care we vets receive there isn t as good as people think. My question is could there be something else going on besides migraines, and is there any meds I can ask my doctor for that could work but aren t mainly for migraines, and is a Neurologist the best choice to see? Thank you for any and all info. I also get a lot of smaller headaches where I can still do what I need to.
