While Having Sex, Condom Came Off, Urinating A Lot, Headaches. Could I Be Pregnant?
Hi, I am 17 and have been with my boyfriend for nearly 4 months. I have been on the pill for about 10 months and we usually use condoms as well when we have sex. I finished my period and took my pill, as usual, on Saturday. We had sex this same day but half way through the condom came off but we carried on anyway. Since this I have been urinating a lot more regularly and today, on the Wednesday, I have been experiencing headaches, been extremely tired, have vomited once and feel a little faint when I get out of bed. My next period isn t for another 16 days but is there a chance that I could be pregnant? Does the pill work on day one of using it?
Your concern is understandable as you are using double precautions so as not to conceive. But please do not worry. If you have been using the pill regularly then ovulation does not occur and hence pregnancy cannot occur. Even if a woman is not using the pill, ovulation usually occurs somewhere around day 12 -16 after the first day of periods. So the chances of getting pregnant in your cases are almost nil. The frequency of urination may be due to a urinary infection. For that you must drink plenty of water and if it still persists, consult a doctor and a simple urinary antibiotic like norfloxacin cures it.
So I suggest you stop worrying, you will be all right.
Thank you and have a good day.
