White Spot On Lower Lips. Had Lip Infection During Fever. Treatment?
Hello Doctor, I have got a white spot on my lower lips . I remember, some years back during fever , I have got some infection on my lips and it get cured in a weeks time without any medicine. After sometime, I saw there was a very small white spot like a size of mustard, but gradually the size is increasing; now the size is something like a size of a rice. Could you please suggest any treatment? Regards, DK
Hello,
That you are getting the white spot on your lips especially when the body is stressed, for example during a febrile episode (fever), it is suggestive of a herpes infection.
Occasionally, these herpes infections (also referred to as cold sores) on the lips occur when there is a chest infection.
It is nothing to worry about as aciclovir cream (Zovirax) usually prevents the virus from replicating and the cod sores disappear.
Apply the Zovirax and see what happens. If you are not sure, you can always see your doctor.
Best Wishes.
