Hello--I have neuropathy but I don t have diabetes. I am told that I have it because I have a low thyroid count. What kind of a doctor should I be seeing? I am presently seeing a rehabilitation medicine doctor. Is this okay? Thank you YYYY@YYYY

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Thank you for asking Healthcare majic.

My name is Dr Ehsan Ullah &
I have gone through your query.

you have mentioned that you have neuropathy and you were told that it's because of low thyroid count...

you haven't mentioned that whether how you have low thyriod count???

whether you have just told by someone or it's proven by Thyroid function tests????

you can visit General Physician to have your complete evaluation in the form
of
History of your illness in details
Clinical examination
and
Labs to role out the Cause of this Neuropathy
since
Neuropathy itself has many types
like
Diabetic
Alcohlic
toxic
Metabolic
Nutritional

Once the Casautive pathology is established then the Treatment is just Cause Directed.

and you Physician Can refer to concerned speciality for proper management.

Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
