Hello,
Welcome to HCM
As your dad is diabetic, the symptoms of urinary and fecal incontinence in a patient with diabetes suggests most probably Diabetic autonomic neuropathy.
This condition is common in diabetic patients because it can gradually cause nerve damage throughout the body.
As your dad's blood sugar level is 160,its not under good control. This might be the reason he has developed Diabetic autonomic neuropathy because the patients with poor control of sugars will be at increased risk of developing nerve damage.
So,i would suggest you to control your dad's blood sugar to keep it as close to normal as possible.
It will help to stop autonomic neuropathy from progressing.
Urinary symptoms can be decreased by retraining your bladder and also you can take this medications like tolterodine or oxybutynin after consulting your doctor. Your diet sholud be modified by increasing the amount of fiber you eat and fluids you drink.
Hope i have answered you queries.
Thank you.
