Total hysterectomy removes the ovaries along with the uterus. The ovaries are responsible for maintaining the hormonal balance of your body. Needless to say that this hormonal balance has been disrupted. This loss of hormonal support is responsible for your weight gain after the surgery. However, for weight gain to occur, the total amount of energy taken in as food needs to be more than the total amount of energy expenditure. So, on one hand, you need to cut down on the amount of food you take in, and on the other, you need to increase your exercise and work output.
The tic in the stomach that you are talking about, is probably simple bowel movement or peristaltic movement and you need not be concerned about it. It is normal.
