As per your query you have blood in your phlegm . Well there can be many reasons for blood in phlegm like gastric reflux , upper respiratory track infection , sinusitis , pharyngitis and any dental related infection like gingivitis , periodontitis and dental abscess . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis because it seems to me then its upper respiratory tract infection in yur case that is causing problem . Doctor may order throat swab test , viral culture test and blood test to confirm the diagnosis and rule out any dental cause . Doctor may prescrine antibiotics course for a week along with decongestants and mucolytic agents . For now doe warm saline gargles and take steam several times a days .
