Why Am I Having Hot Flushes Behind The Ear?

I have been suffering for some time with tightness and spasms in my mastoid muscle and been receiving physiotherapy for it. Alongside it I have been started to experience sudden hot flushes in or behind one ear which last for a few seconds and then go but leave me feeling full in my ear and achy in the mastoid muscle below it. It is a bit alarming as the flushes don't last very long at all but come very suddenly and I have not previously had them with this condition. Any ideas?
