Since early this morning I have been having flashes of light like lighting in the left side of my left eye. I tried to call my eye doctor but not in the office because of the holiday, also the same with my family doctor. What is causing this and its like still happening. Thanks

Hello
It seems from the history that you are having flashes of light.
Flashes of light are seen in conditions affecting the peripheral retina and vitreous like retinal degenerations, retinal tear....
Since some of these require prophylactic treatment this requires examination of the retina by a ophthalmologist by indirect ophthalmoscopy.
Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination and treatment accordingly.

Thank you
