Why Am I Having Menses With Little Bleeding In Between?

Had unprotected sex two weeks ago, started period friday night right after sex, bled for two days (my periods are usually short) have had sex Monday tues and thurs and bled a little every time after. Took a pregnancy test yesterday and it was negative. Could this just be left over blood from period or something more serious
