Hello, and I hope I can help you today.

Birth control pills can produce many of the same side effects as symptoms we commonly associate with pregnancy, such as nausea, bloating, mood changes, irregular bleeding and breast tenderness.

So it is not unusual at all to feel pregnant when taking birth control pills, especially in the first three months of use.

Even while taking antibiotics, the pill is greater than 99 percent effective in preventing pregnancy, and most women use the pill as their primary method of contraception.

So in summary, you do not have to worry about pregnancy even if you had a lighter period this month.

I hope I was able to adequately answer your question today and that my advice was helpful.

Best wishes,

Dr. Brown
