Why Am I Having Swollen Tonsil Covered With White Mucus And Red Specks?
I have one swollen tonsil with white mucus covering it and on the soft palate of my mouth is a bruise looking spot with little red specks in it. My throat was sore for about two weeks prior, but is not really sore anymore. I have no idea what to do or what's wrong.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of swollen tonsil covered with white mucus and red specks which is because of sore throat or tonsilitis, but there can be other reasons also like acid reflux or sinusitis. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take stream and warm saline gargles several times a day especially before going to bed these two will give you lot of relief and take paracetamol for pain and inflammation. Also consult ENT specialist for proper examination and to rule out other conditions . Doctor may order blood test , X-ray or CT scan to find out the exact cause. He/she may prescribe antibiotic course for around week, mucolytic drug or antihistamine drug.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
