Why Am I Seeing Colored Dots At Nights?

This week I have been waking up seeing colored dots and then they fade away. sometimes as many as three times in one night and then some nights nothing. I do have small cartoid arteries and have had a stroke. I am on plavix and 325 mg aspirin but I do not know why I am now getting these colored dots.
