Why Am I Unable To Insert The Tampon?

Yesterday my boyfriend fingered me. I got my period during it. Today i wasnt able to insert a tampon like the last few years, there was no moisture or anything. I couldnt get it in, it seemed like there was already a tampon in but there wasnt and it hurt really bad. Im no longer bleeding, i didnt bleed at all when i was sleeping or during today. I tried finding an answer to my pain online but all the advise is for virgins and first time users. Im neither! Can you help?
