hello there ,

Fowl or bad odor in the mouth is known as oral mal odor . it is caused due to several reasons such as ;

Poor oral hygiene , improper brushing techinques which lead to accumulation of food debris and bacterial plaque and calculus deposits deep in the gum pockets and root surfaces of the teeth .

bacterial plaque and calculus on the teeth gives fowl odor.

Gingivitis and periodontitis is another condition which leads to fowl mouth odor.

Ulceration when infected with bacterial or viral invasion may lead to fowl smell.

alcohol consumption and smoking promotes plaque deposition and gives fowl odor.

i would suggest you to go for professional scaling and root planing of all the teeth , maintain good oral hygiene by regular tooth brushing and flossing.

use antiseptic oral rinse for daily mouth rinsing helps in reducing the mal odor.

i hope this helps ,

Hi,
Bad breath is due to many factors- poor oral hygiene, sinusitis, tonsilitis, diabetis, liver disorder, gastric disorder, consumption of alcohol, tobacco chewing, eating garlic and onion.Any of these problems should be ruled out.
Scaling should be done atleast once in 6 months. You should also take care of the following instructions. Massage your gums using your finger after brushing your teeth. Clean your tongue using a tongue scraper. Change your tooth brush once in 3 months. Floss your teeth once daily. Visit your dentist once in 6 months.

Hello,
Thanks 4 writing in..
Improper cleaning of dental work as well as teeth will cause nasty smells in your mouth. Get your teeth cleaned, and FLOSS after you brush & after eating food. Keep your tongue cleaned as well.If you do that and you STILL have a bad smell, you might have medical problem that can be diagnosed by the your dentist or doctor.

dear, just brushing twice daily cant ensure prevention of bad breath[halitosis].actually one should go for regular cleaning [scaling & polishing] of teeth & gums by a dentist after every 6 months.if bad breath does not go inspite of doing all these things then one might have some systemic conditions like diabetes etc.
