I am almost nine weeks pregnant and my skin on my back and chest areas are being spreaded by lota especially now they are looking like black patches and itching at the same time. please tell me what can I do or use for this problem it would be helpful
Hi, Thanks for the query. During pregnancy pigmentation over different parts of the body can occur due to tempatory increase in production of melanin pigment. The common presentation is over abdomen, face etc. Usually after delivery this pigmentation will decrease. Generally pigmentation induced by hormonal changes in pregnancy will not present with itching. Separation of the collagen fibers due to stretching of the skin can cause itching. Skin creams containing Aloe Vera with vitamin E can help to some extent in relieving the symptoms. With your doctor's suggestion you may use it. Take care.
