For about a week or two i have had lots of itching all over my body from my head down to my toes. I am 40 years old and i dont believe i have allergies. it seems to be worse when just sitting down or after i go to bed...its not as often when im up and about. I dont have any other symptoms other than itchiness.
Hi there.
An itch is a 'reactive' feature. Usually there is either an underlying cause that is 'systemic' related eg Metabolic changes, liver disease with jaundice etc or an 'allergic' or 'hypersensitivity phenomenon to a host of food, air-borne or other allergens. More commonly just plain & simple 'dry' skin may be the reason for the itch! Stress too may be a contributory factor & to a smaller extent climatic changes. Please visit a competent dermatologist to get to the root of the matter & this HCM site may point you in the right direction to someone of your choice & area.
An antihistamine such as a simple AVIL tablet taken at bedtime might help in the interim.
Good Luck & hope you are soon 'itch-free'!
