Hello Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your you are not able to swallow due to pain in throat. The symptoms you mention in query are pointing towards a condition known as acid reflux . This kind of condition occur when upper valve of esophagus doesn't work well and acidic content of stomach come upto throat. This irritate the mucosa and cause pain like sensation. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to avoid eating spicy and heavy food specially at night , ear small and frequent meals. You should take walk for 15 mins after every meal , eat food at least one hour before going to bed and take antacid like gelusil after every meal . Consult gastroenterologist for proper examination and rule out cause like strep throat . Do warm saline gargles several times a day .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
