Why Am I Not Getting My Periods?

I had IVF blastocyst day 5 transfer last Nov 2. I didn't feel anything except now it's Nov 9 , 1 week after, feels like I'm gonna have my period as my vagina hurts. I just want to know if I can already do a pregnancy test Tom ? And also is this normal?

Hi,

After undergoing IVF minor symptoms like genital pain, bloating sensation of the abdomen, etc. can be seen. But we cannot come to one conclusion just by the symptoms. As these types of symptoms can be seen both in early pregnancy and also in the premenstrual period.

So, better to wait for the confirmation. Regarding the pregnancy test, IVF centres usually suggest a blood test for pregnancy in the hospital at around 12 to 14 days after IVF embryo transfer. Which can give a more accurate result. Home pregnancy tests may not always give the accurate result and may further increase the confusion. So, better to wait for a few days and follow your doctor's advice.
