Why Are My Milk Glands Thick And White?

Hi... I had my mammogram on monday and recieved a letter today saying I needed more test. The letter said I do not have dense breast tissue. So what does this mean? My milk glands were very white and thick when I had my test done and I had never seen that before.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Dense breast tissue does not suggest ant disease process in the breast.
In case there is any lump in the breast, an aspiration cytology of the lump should be done to assess the nature of the lesion.
Mammography is an imaging technique and the images obtained are in white and black contrasts.
Thus, a normal breast will also appear white and thick on mammography and it does not indicate any disease process.

Thanks and take care
