Why Calaptin Has Been Prescribed For Irregular Heart Beat And Chest Pain?

my doctor has suggested me with calaptin 40 mg , after i complained him of irregular heartbeat and a bit of pain in my chest. although the reports conducted sounded normal and there was nothin to worry about,,,,,please guide me whether for what purpose is this medication been prescribed ....

Hi,

I think you're having a paroxysmal arrhythmia. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. You may need 24 hours blood pressure, ECG and saturation monitoring needed.

So at the time of op you may won't have a problem. As it is a powerful depressant of atrioventricular nodal conduction it reduces the ventricular rate in atrial flutter and fibrillation with reversion to sinus rhythm.

To prevent this your doctor may advise it. Please follow with your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
