Why Chest Feels Tight After Drinking Soda And Alcoholic Drinks?

I've never been able to drink soda's very fast becaue i get a tight feeling in my chest near my throat, it happens a lot more often when i drink alchoholic drinks. I have a feeling it's trapped air of sorts because i hiccup a lot and feel like a good burp would make me feel better (which i've never been able to do on command)

Thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
In my opinion you are having GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease). It is due to laxity of gastroesophageal sphincter.
Because of this, the acid of the stomach tends to come up in the esophagus and cause the burping sensation in the esophagus (throat).
And alcohol actually deteriorate GERD.
So better to avoid alcohol and start proton pump inhibitor.
Avoid hot and spicy food. Avoid large meals, instead take frequent small meals.
Avoid stress and anxiety.
Don't worry, you will be alright.
