Why Do I Bleed During And After Intercourse Apart From Swelling And Itchiness Around The Labia?

I noticed that I Bleed during & after sex. I also noticed my urine & how cloudy it gets. My vaginal lips around tha opening are swollen & itchy, but no Bleeding & no odor. No bumps, lesions, or rashes. Scratching has lead to soreness for me...Also, the skin that s swollen looks a little like elephant skin ...I m very nervous about this. I haven t gotten it checked up because I m so scared of what will be said.

Hello,

Bleeding before and after sex commonly occurs due to infection, STI like chlamydia and gonorrhea. Since your urine is cloudy, it can be associated with UTI, urinary tract infection. You are suggested to get urinalysis (R/E and C/S) and STD tests done. If reports show positive result, then you will be accordingly treated with a course of antibiotics and antivirals.

It will be better if your partner also gets the tests done so that he can also be treated. Do not touch the sore area, do not scratch. Take care of your hygiene, keep the affected area clean & dry. You can apply ointment hydrocortisone on the affected area to prevent itching.

Taking acetaminophen, one when needed will help to reduce pain, inflammation and soreness. Avoid sexual intercourse or any sexual activity till you are getting treated. Avoid rough sex, friction in aggressive sexual intercourse can cause tear, cuts, trauma and bleeding.

You are advised to get clinically examined by a gynecologist to detect hormonal disorders, cervical polyp, fibroid, endometriosis, thyroid dysfunction, PCOS, STD's, withdrawal bleeding, cervical cancer, etc. Your treatment will depend on the pathology detected. Take homemade food rich in iron, calcium, minerals, and high in protein.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
