Why Do I Feel Extremely Sleepy After Eating Sugary Foods?

Good morning! I seem to become extremely sleepy after eating sugary foods. For example, I ate a piece of chocolate cake about an hour ago and I now have a bit of a headache, a bit of a stomach ache, feel a bit thirsty, and am having a very difficult time keeping my eyes open. I m an active 27-year-old female (125 pounds/5 6 ... exercise a few times a week and try to eat pretty well.)

Diabetologist 's  Response
dear madam
I can understand your concern
in my opinion it might be due to a condition called as reactive hypoglycemia
the symptoms like head ach and feeling dizzy after a sugary meal is classical for reactive hypoglycemia.
my suggestion is kindly check your blood sugar when you feel dizzy
this might give us some clue for the diagnosis

blood sugar below 75 mg/dl is considered as low sugar
kindly concentrate on weight reduction and keep your self active
take complex carbs in place of simple carbs.

kindly let me know your blood sugar
reports

regards
