Why Do I Feel Hot At My Feet When I Lay Down Having Diabetes Under Control?

Hi Doctor,
I feel a lot of heat at my foot palm when i go for a sleep and stretch my leg along the bed for sleeping. it disturb my sleep and some time i put my feet for some time in the cold water before lying on the bed. please, it only happen when i lay on the bed for sleep.
I shall appreciate your reply why this happens and is there any treatment. i am 60 plus and have controlled diabetic,

Hello,
Thanks for the query.
You seem to be suffering from diabetic peripheral neuropathy ( DPN ) which is a complication of long standing uncontrolled diabetes.
There could be deficiency of VIT B12 or VIT D also.
Treatment includes ...
Injectable VIT B12.
VIT D supplementation.
If symptoms don't improve,then consult a diabetologist for prescribing specific medications of DPN like....
Meticulous control of blood sugar levels.
SSRI antidepressants like fluoxetine or paroxetine
Tricyclic antidepressants like amitryptline
Anti epileptic drugs like PREGABLIN and gabapantine.
These drugs could be given singly or n combination.
