Why Do I Have Hernia Like Lumps On Each Side Of My Groin?

Hi, I'm 2 1/2 years post c. Section. 3 weeks after having baby I developed cellulitis and wound infection and the wound split open. I was treated with iv antibiotics for 3 days and sent home. Since then I have developed what looks like hernias at each end of the scar and 2 very painful hard lumps on each side of my groin. A midwife I know said these lumps are actually lymph nodes and to get it checked. Any ideas? Thank you, Amm

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It can be a hematoma or inflammatory swelling probably due to collection of blood or inflammatory fluid. Consult a general surgeon and get evaluated. An ultrasound scan is required to make a diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain
