Why Do I Have Pain In Eye Brows After Going For A Swim?

Hello! Today I went swimming with my friends, and we were diving, doing handstands underwater, and all that other fun stuff. About 45 minutes later I felt this pain on the edge of my left eyebrow, and it came to the point when it was unbearable. Now about 5 hours later it still hurts. It started hurting again when I did cartwheels, handstands and bridges. What is wrong?

Hi, thanks for asking from HCM.

I can understand your concern. The pain over left eyebrow could be due to

- Inflammation of your eye from chlorinated water

- Contamination of your left side frontal air sinus with swimming pool water. The water can go there through nasal cavity.

As the pain was severe, you must take rest.

- Inhale steam if no eye inflammation. It will enhance aeration of frontal air sinus.

- Consult ophthalmologist if left eye is red

- You can take decongestant tablet like Xylometazoline with painkiller like paracetamol and antiallergic like Cetrizine for pain relief.

- Avoid swimming for few days if pain persists

- You can consult ENT specialist if nasal blockade, post nasal discharge.

Hope it will help. Thanks. Take care.
