Why Do I Have Pain In Upper Abdomen During Pregnancy?

Hi I m 36 weeks & 4 days pregnant, my doctor wants to induce me between 38-39 weeks as my baby is in the 7th percentile but ATM I am having really sharp pains at the top of my stomach/belly. It feels like someone is stabbing me. This is my third pregnancy, second child I m worried that I am overreacting thinking that something might be wrong. But for all I know this is normal my first child was easy this one everything seems to be happening. Any advise would be great

Hello ma'am and welcome.

The pain can at times be considered normal but please report to your doctor immediately if you have any of the following associated symptoms increased vaginal discharge, puffiness around eyes or face, headaches, vision changes, lower back pain, vaginal spotting or bleeding, increased pressure in the pelvic region, itching around the genitalia, increased frequency of urine or burning micturation.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
