Why Do I Have Pain Under My Rib Cage?

Hi there. I am 42 years old and had my gallbladder removed 2 years ago. I do have diverticular disease, endemetriosis and scar tissue from two c sections. However the last few weeks I have been having a lot of pain under my right rib cage and up into my back. It feels like trapped wind but it s very uncomfortable. I wonder if it s my liver. I am normal weight etc

Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
Pain under right rib cage can be due to
1. Pulmonary causes like pleural effusion, pneumonia etc.
2. Liver related diseases like hepatitis.
So better to get done
1. Chest x ray
2. Ultrasound examination of abdomen.
Chest x ray is needed to rule out pulmonary causes.
Ultrasound examination of abdomen is needed to rule out liver pathology.
If both are normal then no need to worry much for pain.
It is mostly musculoskeletal pain. So take painkiller and muscle relaxant. Apply warm water pad on affected site.
Don't worry, you will be alright.
