Why Do Microscopic Bug Infest House Upholstery So Often?

Is it possible for one family to have such a severe infestation of a microscopic bug of some sort that every time they visit someone elses house it seems the 'bugs' reinfest the house they visit so rapidly? Treatment (with permethrin or pyrethrin (whatever that ingredient is), vacuuming and washing bedding, towels, etc used in borax) has been effective every time so far but reinfestation seems to happen every time and that is simply confusing, I.e., does that mean the 'infestation' would be severe? If so, what type of microscopic bug is so highly contagious between people...and/or households? Thank you

Hi there,

Thanks for your query.

Rest assured that you are not transmitting the bugs to your host's house.

There are hundreds of types of microscopic bugs including viruses, which are so light that they are always suspended in the atmosphere/air. They enter the house along with a gust of air, and settle down on all surfaces, including upholstery.
Also, several bacteria and viruses are normally present on the skin of every person, without causing any infection.

Regular vacuuming and treatment of upholstery with pyrethrin will remove most- if not all- of the heavier bugs.
