Why Does My Nose Bleed After Drinking Iced Coffee?

my nose bleeds everytime I drink an iced coffee from Dunkin Donnuts. I tested it three times and in that three days my nose bled. Can you please tell me the reason of why this is happening to me? I m scared that i might have a disease or illness or something.

Hi,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
I had gone through your question.
Caffeine can cause dryness of nasal mucosa. Our nasal mucosa is richly supplied by blood vessels, which are located superficially. When the mucosa is dried its prone to bleed even with minute trauma like nose picking and even rubbing nose. Each individual has different tolerant sensitivity to caffeine.
I recommend the following.
1) Avoid caffeinated drinks.
2 ) Steam inhalation to moisture the nasal mucosa.
3) Drink plenty of water and fruit juices to maintain adequate hydration of nasal mucosa.

This is not some disease or illness. Nothing to worry. You will be fine.

If you have any other queries you can write to me on healthcare magic.

Wish you a good health.

Regards,
Dr Paparaja S MBBS MS
