Why Does The UPT Show Positive After Taking Cytotec?

I used cytotec on 21st August 2014 for abortion. After 5 hours i started heavy bleeding and some particles also came. I stayed around 3 days and after that little blood came . Now its been 2 weeks i check yesterday pregnancy test in my home and it sown very strong positive. Am i pregnant still ?

Hi,
Firstly, you need to get a trans-vaginal sonogram to see the status of the pelvic organs and also to see if the abortion is complete. Usually, serum titres of beta-hCG hormone, which is a pregnancy hormone, take some time to regress to normal levels after an abortion or delivery. If the levels do not fall or show a rise after two weeks, the continuation of the pregnancy should be suspected and further management should be planned. Please get further help from a specialist, in person. Take care.
